Sonya Louro do Rego was born and grew up in South Africa and moved to Europe after graduating in Fine Arts at Rhodes University in 1999. In 2008 she graduated as a master mosaicist from the 'Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli' in Italy. She currently works as an independent mosaicist and teacher in Udine, Italy. She has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Italy and abroad, including 'Primo Premio Internazionale GAEM in Ravenna (2011) and 'Mosaicisti d'Artista' at Villa Manin in Passariano (2012).
